DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

Community service, a cornerstone of the YES program, builds community, develops leadership and addresses local needs but at times can prove to be unsustainable or only temporary solutions. YES alumni have diverse skills and knowledge, as well as powerful ideas! This workshop has been designed with the special intent of enabling YES alumni to spot hidden opportunities around their community and to empower them to create and implement their own solutions to pressing problems. The Tech Innovation Camp will dive deep into the innovation process and explore a wide range of technologies in order to develop new, creative and local solutions to problems in local communities. At the same time, alumni will improve their project management and public speaking skills as they learn how to develop an action plan for their innovation and how to pitch it to an audience. This workshop seeks YES alumni who have a master skill, trade, expert knowledge, or work experience that they can contribute to the innovation design process. Please see Eligibility below for more details.
